I began taking photographs in earnest as a way to bring home memories from scuba vacations with friends. I also wanted to share the beauty of the underwater world with friends and family at home; many who may never experience scuba diving. My friends & family seemed to like the images I captured both below and above the water. Through their encouragement I made a decision to pursue becoming a better photographer. My love of nature and belief that this world was designed by a creator has turned a vacation hobby into a full blown passion for photography. I am drawn to photographing nature and landscapes, but honestly I find beauty in almost everything.
I couldn't agree with Ansel Adams quote more. If I can occasionally be at the place God wants me to be with camera in hand; then I know I will capture a good image. Hopefully one that will awe, or inspire, or at least make someone feel they are in the emotion of the moment that I pressed the shutter. I don't create the moment, or the beauty. God does. I do get to press the shutter every once in a while, and that is enough.
Cheers, Glen
